is a summer retreat for AmmachiPanapillaiAmma, the morganatic consort
of the former Maharajah of Travancore. It is one of the lesser-known

was featured in many South Indian movies. The palace has is now almost
in ruins but the grandeur of this magnificent royal house is still
evident in it. Among the best places to visit in Kuttikkanam, it
consists of 2 halls, 3 rooms, one visiting room, dining hall, kitchen,
and most importantly 2 secret passages. One of them is internal to the
palace and the other passage connects to the Sree Krishna Temple in
Peermade.

is a famous viewpoint and scenic area in the Idukki district located
near Kuttikkanam. It is known for being one of the hiding spot of
Pandavas and Panchali. According to the legends, Pandavas along with
their wife resided in a cave nearby called Pandavaguha (or Pandava Cave)
where the footprints of Bhima can be allegedly found. The stone pool in
the picture above is believed to be built and used by the Pandavas as a
place for bathing. There are also granite edicts, Shiva Lingas, Trishuls, and Naga Idols which can be found in this scenic area making it a historic place as well. During the MakaraSankrathi in January, this place will be swarmed by devotees who camp at this beautiful spot to witness the Makarjyothi of Sabarimala.
